Hello! My name is Adrian. I'm a writer and an artist; I write novels that never get finished and do art that's never good enough.
I’m so amused because when Steven Spielberg was making Jurassic Park he’s like ‘I want 10 ft’ velociraptors and everyone else is like ‘Steven no, they weren’t that big’ and he’s just like ‘well damn imma put them in the movie anyway’ and then during filming some random palaeontologists found actual 10 ft velociraptor skeletons and Spielberg was probably like ‘told ya so’
Okay, I’ve finished the art for the Blue Lily, Lily Blue bookplate. I try to make art every year to thank the readers who support me book after book, so please know that all of these pencil marks are my wordless (and now wordful?) appreciation.
The signed bookplates will go into every copy of Blue Lily, Lily Blue pre-ordered from Fountain Bookstore before the release date of October 21 (http://www.fountainbookstore.com/autograph-maggie). They’ll also come with that skull doodle.
UK readers can also get a signed bookplate with every copy of Blue Lily ordered from Seven Stories: http://www.sevenstories.org.uk/
Canadian readers can order them from Mabel’s Fables.
And if you’re an Australian indie who would like to take part, please let me know.
If you’ve already pre-ordered from Fountain, you don’t have to do anything special to make certain this will appear in your book.
Again, thank you!
*Calla, Persephone, ______, & Maura: top.
**Chainsaw, night horror: bottom
ETA: I discovered I still had some Sinner and Dream Thieves bookplates, so I’ll send those to the stores as well.
Oh I am so excited for this. I’m gonna have to preorder soon.
one of my roommates used to work with 5th graders in a creative writing class thing and they had to write a romance and most of the kids wrote stories about princesses and crap but this one little girl wrote about how a marshmallow fell in love with a mug of cocoa and he loved the cocoa so much that in order to be with her he melted and died like wow kid that’s some shakespearian shit right there
